Playing guitar since 1977, Baltimore guitarist Tobias Hurwitz puts his chops to the test on the 2007 CD release of Zen Shred Zone by his Tobias Hurwitz Band. Having a resilient lineup of players in his band—including guitarist Bill Hugo and drummer Marc Norgaard—only makes things more interesting. Hurwitz has jammed with heavies from J. Geils to Joe Pass and while his sound is clearly hard rock instrumental, it’s played with both musical acumen and a clear appreciation for both the genre and a love of the guitar in general.
