Morning Tide
(Chop Shop Records)

It’s good to know some of today’s pop bands can make music this good. Case in point is Morning Tide from the L.A. power pop band The Little Ones. Mixing progressive overtones with a solid pop message, Morning Tide kicks off with the CD title track and the album keeps up that high level of pop expertise. The Little Ones may be pop savvy but a number of Morning Tide tracks feature vintage prog instruments like mellotron. That and an abundance of pop hooks should make it of interest to anyone who likes ‘80s era Yes and late period Zombies. A solid band featuring guitarist Ian Moreno and vocalist / lyricist Edward Nolen Reyes, The Little Ones may be at the start in their career but they’re off to a big start with Morning Tide.
