In
the world of DVD, Eagle is king and to prove it beyond any doubt,
the NYC based company have a number of 2009 titles making waves on
both sides of the Atlantic. The big news in 2009 of course is the
long awaited DVD of The Moody Blues - Threshold Of A Dream:
Live At The Isle Of Wight Festival. Moody Blues front
man Justin Hayward was talking a few years back about making
this DVD release a reality and to his credit Hayward, his band mates
and Eagle Rock have have done a great job. Kudos also to producer
/ director Murray Lerner, who filmed the entire festival back
then and who also directed the new interview segments. The CD version
of the Moodies IOW performance was released by Eagle in 2008 and the
20 track 2009 DVD expands greatly on the 14 cut CD with the complete
performance along with new interviews featuring Moodies founder and
mellotron genius Mike Pinder, Hayward, John Lodge and
even drummer Graeme Edge, who rarely has anything good to say,
especially about Mike Pinder! Currently producing his two sons and
their excellent pop group The Pinder Brothers, Mike Pinder sadly left
the Moodies after the 1978 Octave Lp but his legacy shines
on. Of course Ray Thomas is missing on the new interview footage
but his performance in the show is vintage, vital stuff. Once again,
Eagle has done a spectacular job preserving and adding to this incredible
August 30, 1970 performance, now available for the first time on DVD
from the classic 7 lineup of The Moody Blues. www.EagleRockEnt.com
